Dance Mogul Magazine: Who are your inspirations?
Kolanie Marks: I allow many people to be inspirations to me! I’m inspired by both dancers and Choreographers. I would have to say that Tabitha & Napoleon really inspire me, I feel they are amazing at what they do…and they have a wide range of jobs they do! Also, I’m inspired by Choreographer Steve Bolton from Montreal he’s the guy that gave me my first International Teaching Job, from his Choreography to the way he runs his business is amazing to me! He’s a great mentor of mine.
Dance Mogul Magazine: When did you realize dance was no longer a hobby, but a viable way to make a living?
Kolanie Marks: To be honest dance was never a hobby for me. Since day one I wanted to be a Choreographer! So the day I decided to start dancing was the day I started dreaming! I’m 31 and I started when I was 23. I didn’t know how to properly dance at the time, I was a hot mess lol! However my work ethic is what got me to where I am

CAROLYN FARRAR
Carolyn Farrar, known for her unparalleled classical ballet and pointe training, is accomplished in jazz, lyrical, modern, tap, yoga, gymnastics and character.
Dancing since the age of nine, her professional career is noted for six levels of training and certification in The Cecchetti Method of Ballet. Carolyn received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance from The United States International University where she benefited from the exemplary training of Erling Sunde, the ballet Master and Elaine Thomas, the ballet mistress of England’s, Royal Ballet. After graduating from USIU, Carolyn went on to dance professionally under the direction of Ronn Guidi. There she performed in such famous works as, Les Sylphides, Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker and Billy the Kid. In Washington, Carolyn received Vagonova training under Don and Helena Snyder, the founders of Ballet Petite. Here she performed in The Little Match Girl, The Centar and many other original works. She has remained a part of the Washington dance community ever since.
From 1992-2003 Carolyn has been the primary ballet teacher for The Dance Academy of Bellevue where she became a member of the Dance Masters of America (DMA) and The Dance Educators
